A Beggar

A Beggar

I see her again passing my way
She spreads her hand and ask for money
Some scold her and drives her away
Some happily give her a penny

Every morning I see her standing, looking to earn
Under a banyan tree ,she waits for passers by
To give her money and she gives blessings in return
She collects the coins thrown at her, a bread to buy

Whether it rains or the sun shines
She is under the tree struggling to survive
She is pain but still she sings rhyme
She in grief, in want and pain but still alive

There are buildings touching the blue sky
There is countless vehicles run everyday
But there is no place for her, she waits to die
But who’s going to bury her when she dies someday?

She is old and cannot take her own load
She wishes if she was a bird, she could fly away
She closes her eyes and sleeps on the road
She prays everyday asking God to take her away.
